Who is
Bill
Brown?
ü1948 -
Born and raised in
St. Louis, MO.
ü1966-1970:
Enlisted
in the
U.S. Air Force. Worked on repairing
radar navigation systems
on
fighters and bombers
during the
Vietnam war.
ü1970-1976:
Worked as a
field service engineer
for
Honeywell Information Systems
and
Raytheon Data Systems
repairing
computer systems
ranging from
mini-computers all
the way up to
million-dollar computer systems.
ü1976-1988:
In
1976 (on
a dare and a $10,000 loan) I started a
computer maintenance business
based
in
St. Louis,
focusing on buying, selling and repairing
Honeywell
computers. At my peak, I had more than
30 systems
under
contract in
12 states
generating
$40-$50,000 a month
in
revenue.
New technology
eventually made these
systems obsolete.
ü1988-1992:
In
1988 I
moved to Las Vegas,
where I worked in
media-related
areas
(utilizing my
computer background),
including
magazine publishing
and
radio. I
wrote
gaming columns
for
several
gambling magazines and
wrote a book computer analyzing the game of blackjack (190,000,000
Hands of Blackjack).
ü1992-1997:
Production supervisor
for
SportsFan Radio Network, one
of
the first
all-sports national radio networks
in the country. Some of our on-air talent
included
Pete Rose, Sean Salisbury, Tim Ryan
and
Bob Golic.
ü1998-2013:
Retired in 2013
after 14+ years as a
data analyst
for the
University of Nevada School of Medicine
(UNSOM),
Dept. of Surgery. My title the last five years was
Project Director
for the
Center for Traffic Safety Research.
ü2015:
My wife
(retired from
UNSOM after
16+
years) and I moved to
Lake Ozark, MO
to be
closer to family and friends.
